Halloween Starry Night Boat Tour
Experience the Everglades after dark during a special Halloween night edition of the Starry Night Boat Tour at Flamingo Adventures.
This 90-minute evening boat tour departs from Flamingo Marina and travels into the backcountry of Everglades National Park, where the mangroves, open water, and night sky create a memorable Halloween adventure.

Weather
During the Fall months, we see highs around 85*F and lows around 69*F. October and November bring some of the best weather to the Everglades: the oppressive summer humidity fades, temperatures settle into the comfortable 70s-80s, and mosquito activity drops significantly as the dry season begins. It’s an ideal window for adventure, with clearer skies and calmer water than the peak of hurricane season.

What to Wear and Pack
Packing for the Everglades in October/November means dressing for warm days that can cool off a bit by evening. Here’s a solid rundown:
To wear:
- Lightweight, breathable clothing (moisture-wicking fabrics work great)
- Long sleeves and pants for sun and bug protection, especially at dawn/dusk
- A hat with a brim and sunglasses
- Closed-toe shoes or water shoes (flip-flops aren’t ideal for boat decks or trails)
- A light jacket or layer for cooler mornings/evenings
To pack:
- Insect repellent (a good one, applied often)
- Sunscreen (reef-safe if near the water)
- A reusable water bottle
- Binoculars for wildlife spotting
- A camera or phone with waterproof case/pouch
- A light rain jacket or poncho, just in case
- Snacks for longer tours
- Cash or card for tips and small purchases

Mosquitoes
October and November mark the transition into the Everglades’ dry season, so mosquito populations typically start tapering off compared to the intense summer months, though they don’t disappear entirely, and activity can vary year to year depending on recent rainfall. It’s still smart to pack repellent for early morning and dusk excursions, just in case.
