December brings the Everglades into its dry season, making it a wonderful time to explore Flamingo. Expect generally warm, pleasant afternoons, cooler mornings and evenings, and lower humidity than the summer months.

Weather can still vary, especially near the water. Check the forecast before your visit and prepare for changing conditions during boat tours and outdoor activities.

    • Comfortable walking shoes or water shoes
    • A light jacket or sweater for cooler evenings and boat tours
    • A hat and sunglasses for sunny days

  • Mosquitoes

December is part of the Everglades’ dry season, when mosquito activity is often lower than during the warmer, wetter months. However, mosquitoes can still be present, especially near mangroves and during early morning and evening hours.
